Preparation
Upon unpacking, inspect the fan to ensure all components are present and undamaged. Pay special attention to the nose cone (flow straightener) for any dents or deformation. Check that all connections are tight, the blades and motor are free from damage, and the impeller rotates smoothly; repair or adjust as necessary. Inspect the installation foundation to ensure it possesses sufficient strength and rigidity to support the operational load of the fan, and verify that the connection dimensions between the foundation and the fan meet design specifications.
Installation Guidelines
1. Floor-mounted installation: Secure the vibration isolators to the fan base using connecting bolts and adjust their height using leveling shims. Anchor the fan to the steel mounting plate (which should be pre-welded to the foundation) using fixing bolts. If vibration isolators are not required (e.g., due to seismic considerations), the fan base may be bolted directly to the foundation's embedded anchor bolts.
2. Sidewall-mounted installation: The basic requirements are the same as for floor mounting, except that the mounting bracket must be designed as an inclined-arm support with adequate strength and rigidity. This installation method is not recommended for fans sized No. 10 or larger.
3. Suspended installation: First, bolt the vibration isolators to the fan as a single unit, positioning them symmetrically on either side of the fan's center of gravity. Lift the assembly and mount it onto the suspension bracket; the user determines the bracket height based on available space. This method is generally not used for fans sized No. 16 or larger.
4. Vertical installation: The procedure is identical to floor mounting, though the requirements for foundation strength and rigidity are more stringent.
5. Connections between the fan and the ductwork at both ends must utilize flexible joints to isolate vibration and protect the fan.
