Product Overview
The Mine Flameproof press-in counter-rotating fan is a flameproof, counter-rotating axial fan designed for local and auxiliary ventilation in underground coal mines and other suitable underground mining applications.
The FBD series uses a two-stage counter-rotating impeller configuration. The first impeller adds energy to the airflow, while the second impeller rotates in the opposite direction to further increase the pressure capability of the fan.
This configuration makes the FBD fan suitable for mine heading ventilation, underground roadways, local ventilation stations, and ventilation duct systems, particularly where relatively high system resistance and long duct runs are involved.
EMS can configure the fan according to airflow, pressure, duct diameter, duct length, motor requirements, electrical specifications, and applicable flameproof requirements.

Actual airflow, pressure, motor power, fan diameter, and flameproof certification must be confirmed according to the specific model and project requirements.
Working Principle
The FBD fan uses a counter-rotating axial-flow configuration.
Air enters the first impeller and receives an initial pressure increase. It then passes through the second impeller, which rotates in the opposite direction and adds further energy to the airflow.
A typical ventilation arrangement is:
Fresh Air → FBD Fan → Flexible Ventilation Duct → Heading Face / Working Area
This configuration is particularly suitable for local underground ventilation and ducted forced-air systems.
Typical Installation Locations
Mine Flameproof press-in counter-rotating fans are typically installed at:
Mine Heading Faces
Underground Roadways
Coal Mine Tunnels
Development Headings
Local Ventilation Stations
Underground Mining Areas
Auxiliary Ventilation Systems
Long-Distance Duct Ventilation Systems
The fan is normally connected to a flexible ventilation duct or suitable mine ventilation ducting to deliver fresh air to remote working areas.
