Product Overview

The FKZ / FKCDZ Series Non-Coal Mine Ventilation Fan is designed for ventilation applications in underground metal mines, non-coal mines and other underground mining projects.

The fan can be used for main mine ventilation, exhaust ventilation, auxiliary ventilation and localized underground ventilation. Depending on the series, the fan can use a conventional axial-flow or counter-rotating axial configuration.

The FKZ Series is suitable for conventional high-volume mine ventilation, while the FKCDZ Series uses a two-stage counter-rotating configuration for applications requiring higher pressure capability.

Main Applications

FKZ / FKCDZ fans are suitable for:

  • Metal Mine Ventilation
  • Underground Metal Mines
  • Non-Coal Underground Mines
  • Copper Mines
  • Iron Ore Mines
  • Gold Mines
  • Nickel Mines
  • Lead-Zinc Mines
  • Manganese Mines
  • Underground Mining Projects
  • Mine Development Tunnels
  • Deep Underground Mines
  • Mine Ventilation Stations

Ventilation Applications

Main Mine Ventilation

The fan can be integrated into centralized underground mine ventilation systems.

Typical airflow:

Underground Mine → Return Airway → Main Ventilation Fan → Exhaust Outlet

Auxiliary Ventilation

The fan can be used to ventilate localized underground areas, development headings and mining tunnels.

Exhaust Ventilation

The fan can remove return air, heat, dust and other contaminants from underground mining areas through the mine return-air system.

Forced Ventilation

Depending on the system design, the fan can also supply fresh air to designated underground areas.

Key Features

Mine-to-spin pressurized fan

High Airflow Capacity

Designed for substantial airflow requirements in underground metal and non-coal mines.

Axial-Flow Design

The axial configuration provides a direct airflow path suitable for centralized mine ventilation and long-distance air movement.

Counter-Rotating Configuration

The FKCDZ Series uses two counter-rotating impellers to provide higher pressure capability for selected high-resistance mine ventilation systems.

Heavy-Duty Construction

The casing, impellers, shafts and bearings can be engineered for demanding mining environments and continuous operation.

Continuous-Duty Operation

The fan can be designed for long-term operation in underground mine ventilation systems.

Customized Engineering

Airflow, pressure, fan diameter, motor power, blade configuration, materials, voltage and frequency can be customized according to project requirements.

Non-Coal Mine Ventilation Fan

Installation Locations

FKZ / FKCDZ fans can be installed at:

  • Main Mine Ventilation Stations
  • Mine Return Shafts
  • Surface Ventilation Stations
  • Underground Ventilation Stations
  • Mine Airways
  • Development Tunnels
  • Auxiliary Ventilation Stations
  • Underground Working Areas

Large underground metal mines may use centralized main ventilation stations or multiple ventilation zones according to the mine ventilation network.

Fan Selection

Fan selection should be based on the actual mine ventilation system rather than the mine type alone.

Customers should provide:

  • Required Airflow
  • Required Total Pressure
  • Mine Depth
  • Mine Ventilation Resistance
  • Mine Shaft Diameter
  • Return-Airway Dimensions
  • Ventilation Distance
  • Mine Layout
  • Operating Temperature
  • Dust Conditions
  • Gas Conditions
  • Motor Voltage
  • Frequency
  • Installation Altitude
  • Continuous Operating Requirement

The primary selection parameters are:

Airflow + Fan Pressure + Ventilation System Resistance

EMS can use these parameters to determine the appropriate fan configuration and motor capacity.

Operating Environment

Underground non-coal mines can involve complex environmental conditions, including dust, high temperature, humidity and potentially corrosive gases.

Fan selection should therefore consider:

  • Mine Dust
  • High Temperature
  • Humidity
  • Corrosive Gas
  • Installation Altitude
  • Continuous Operation
  • Electrical Environment
  • Noise and Vibration

Where combustible gases or other hazardous conditions are present, the appropriate flameproof electrical equipment and certification should be selected according to the actual hazardous area and applicable regulations.
