Product Overview

The Mine Energy-saving Mine Ventilation Fan is designed for ventilation systems in coal mines, metal mines, non-coal mines and underground engineering projects.

The fan combines an optimized axial-flow design with suitable motor configuration to provide the required airflow and pressure while reducing unnecessary energy consumption during long-term operation.

K / DK fans can be used for main ventilation, auxiliary ventilation, forced ventilation and exhaust ventilation according to the actual mine ventilation system.

Working Principle

The K / DK Series operates on the axial-flow ventilation principle.

When the impeller rotates, air moves axially through the fan and receives the required pressure and airflow energy.

Typical system:

Fresh Air / Mine Airway → K / DK Fan → Ventilation Duct or Mine Airway → Working Area / Return Airway

For energy-efficient operation, the fan duty point should be properly matched with the mine ventilation network.

Key design considerations include:

  • Optimized impeller aerodynamics
  • Reduced internal flow losses
  • Proper motor sizing
  • Appropriate operating point
  • Reduced system resistance
  • Improved overall operating efficiency

Energy-Saving Design Approach

Energy consumption in a mine ventilation system depends not only on fan efficiency but also on the complete ventilation network.

The K / DK Series can therefore be evaluated based on:

Fan Efficiency + Motor Efficiency + System Resistance + Operating Point

Important factors include:

  • High-efficiency impeller
  • Optimized airflow passage
  • Proper blade configuration
  • High-efficiency motor
  • Correct motor sizing
  • Reduced system resistance
  • Reduced duct leakage
  • Optimized fan operating point

For mine fans operating continuously for long periods, proper system matching can be an important factor in reducing unnecessary operating energy consumption.

Ventilation Modes

Main Mine Ventilation

The fan can be integrated into centralized mine ventilation systems.

Auxiliary Ventilation

The fan can provide ventilation for localized underground areas.

Forced Ventilation

The fan can supply fresh air to underground working areas.

Exhaust Ventilation

The fan can extract return air from underground mine ventilation systems.

Fan Selection

For proper K / DK fan selection, customers should provide:

  • Required Airflow
  • Required Fan Pressure
  • Mine Ventilation Resistance
  • Mine Depth
  • Mine Shaft Dimensions
  • Airway Dimensions
  • Ventilation Distance
  • Operating Hours
  • Motor Voltage
  • Frequency
  • Ambient Temperature
  • Installation Altitude
  • Dust Conditions
  • Gas Conditions
  • Required Energy-Efficiency Level

For energy-saving applications, providing the actual airflow, system pressure and annual operating hours can help with more appropriate fan and motor selection.

Installation and Operation

K / DK fans can be installed at mine ventilation stations, underground ventilation locations or other designated ventilation positions.

Before commissioning, check:

  • Fan foundation
  • Air inlet
  • Air outlet
  • Impeller rotation direction
  • Motor wiring
  • Grounding
  • Bearing lubrication
  • Fan-to-airway connections
  • Mechanical fasteners
  • During operation, monitor:
  • Airflow
  • Fan Pressure
  • Motor Current
  • Motor Temperature
  • Bearing Temperature
  • Vibration
  • Noise
  • Actual Operating Point

For hazardous mining environments, the appropriate electrical and flameproof configuration should be determined according to the actual gas and dust conditions and applicable local mining regulations.
