The above figures are typical engineering reference ranges rather than fixed specifications for every GY6-51 configuration. Final airflow, pressure, speed, motor power, temperature rating, and materials should be determined according to the actual boiler and flue gas system.
Working Principle
The GY6-51 uses a centrifugal impeller to extract and transport boiler flue gas.
As the impeller rotates, flue gas is drawn into the fan inlet and accelerated radially outward by centrifugal force. The fan casing converts part of the velocity energy into pressure, allowing the gas to overcome resistance in downstream equipment and discharge through the flue gas system.
A typical large-boiler arrangement is:
Boiler → Air Preheater → Dust Collector → FGD / DeNOx → GY6-51 Draft Fan → Chimney
The fan continuously extracts flue gas while helping maintain the required furnace pressure.
Key Features

Large Airflow Capacity
Designed for high-capacity boiler applications requiring substantial flue gas handling.
High Pressure Capability
Suitable for systems with significant resistance from dust collectors, air preheaters, flue gas treatment equipment, long ducts, dampers, and chimneys.
Heavy-Duty Construction
Large boiler applications can be equipped with reinforced bearings, bases, couplings, shafts, and structural components for continuous industrial operation.
Wear-Resistant Options
For dusty flue gas, wear-resistant impeller and protective configurations can be selected according to dust concentration, particle size, gas temperature, and operating conditions.
High-Temperature Configuration
For elevated-temperature applications, EMS can provide suitable cooling arrangements, bearing configurations, sealing solutions, and heat-resistant materials.
Complete System Matching
The fan can be matched with dust collectors, air preheaters, FGD systems, DeNOx systems, flue gas treatment equipment, and chimneys.

Typical Installation Locations
GY6-51 fans can be used in:
- Large Industrial Boiler Plants
- Thermal Power Plants
- CHP Plants
- District Heating Plants
- Industrial Heating Plants
- Large Steam Boiler Systems
- Biomass Boiler Systems
- Waste Heat Boiler Systems
- Boiler Flue Gas Treatment Systems

Fan Selection
Large-capacity boiler draft fan selection should consider the complete flue gas system.
Important parameters include:
- Boiler Capacity
- Fuel Type
- Flue Gas Volume
- Required Fan Pressure
- Flue Gas Temperature
- Dust Concentration
- Flue Gas Composition
- Air Preheater Resistance
- Dust Collector Resistance
- FGD System Resistance
- DeNOx System Resistance
- Duct Length
- Duct Diameter
- Altitude
- Motor Voltage
- Frequency
- Operating Hours
- Material Requirements
- Fan Installation Layout
For large boiler systems, actual flue gas volume and total system resistance are two of the most important parameters for correct fan selection.
