Product Overview

The SDS Tunnel Jet Fan is an axial-flow jet fan designed for longitudinal ventilation in road tunnels, highway tunnels, underground roads, transportation tunnels, and other large underground facilities.

By generating high-velocity airflow and jet thrust, the fan transfers momentum to the surrounding tunnel air and drives longitudinal airflow through the tunnel. It can be used for normal ventilation, pollutant removal, airflow control, and smoke management during fire emergencies.

EMS provides SDS Tunnel Jet Fans with customized airflow, jet thrust, motor power, reversible operation, high-temperature configuration, mounting systems, and electrical control solutions according to individual tunnel projects.

The above values are typical engineering reference ranges rather than fixed specifications for every SDS model. Final fan performance should be selected according to the tunnel ventilation calculation, required jet thrust, smoke-control conditions, and applicable project standards.

Working Principle

The SDS Tunnel Jet Fan uses an axial impeller to accelerate air through the fan and generate a high-speed jet.

The resulting jet exchanges momentum with the surrounding tunnel air, creating longitudinal airflow along the tunnel.

Typical ventilation flow:

Fresh Air → SDS Jet Fan → Longitudinal Airflow → Pollutant Exhaust

For emergency smoke-control applications, multiple jet fans can be strategically installed and controlled to manage smoke movement and support the tunnel's fire safety ventilation system.

Key Features

SDS tunnel jet fan

High Jet Thrust

The aerodynamic design of the axial impeller and internal airflow passage is optimized to generate effective jet thrust for tunnel longitudinal ventilation.

Reversible Operation

Reversible configurations can be provided for projects requiring bidirectional airflow or specific smoke-control strategies.

Compact Installation

Jet fans are normally suspended from the tunnel ceiling or mounted on brackets, minimizing the need for large ventilation ducts.

Direct Drive

The direct-drive configuration reduces mechanical transmission components and simplifies inspection and maintenance.

High-Temperature Configuration

For fire smoke-control applications, the fan can be engineered with appropriate high-temperature materials, motor configuration, insulation, and other components according to the required duty.

Customized Engineering

EMS can select and customize the fan according to tunnel length, cross-sectional area, ventilation resistance, required airflow, jet thrust, installation conditions, power supply, and smoke-control requirements.
