Product Overview
The Y8-39 / Y9-38 Boiler Centrifugal Induced Draft Fan is designed for industrial boiler flue gas extraction, furnace negative pressure control and continuous boiler exhaust ventilation.
The fan is typically installed downstream of the boiler and pollution-control equipment. It extracts combustion flue gas and provides sufficient pressure to overcome the resistance of dust collectors, FGD and DeNOx systems, ducts and chimneys.
The Y8-39 / Y9-38 series is suitable for industrial steam boilers, hot water boilers, biomass boilers, waste heat boilers, district heating systems and industrial thermal energy applications.
EMS provides customized configurations according to airflow, pressure, gas temperature, dust concentration, gas composition and total system resistance.

The final model and size should be selected according to the actual airflow, pressure, gas temperature and total system resistance, rather than the model designation alone.
Working Principle
Boiler Furnace → Dust Collector → FGD / DeNOx → Y8-39 / Y9-38 ID Fan → Chimney
Flue gas generated by boiler combustion passes through the dust collection and flue gas treatment equipment before entering the induced draft fan.
The centrifugal impeller creates negative pressure at the inlet and continuously extracts flue gas from the boiler system. The fan then increases the gas pressure sufficiently to overcome downstream resistance and discharge the treated flue gas through the chimney.
Proper fan selection helps maintain stable furnace negative pressure and reliable boiler operation.
Key Features

Boiler-Specific Induced Draft Application
Designed for boiler flue gas extraction and furnace negative pressure control under continuous industrial operation.
High Airflow Centrifugal Design
Suitable for medium- and large-capacity industrial boiler systems with significant flue gas volume.
Suitable for High-Resistance Systems
The fan can be selected according to the pressure losses of dust collectors, FGD, DeNOx equipment and long-distance ductwork.
Wear-Resistant Options
For high-dust flue gas, EMS can provide wear-resistant impellers, liners and reinforced components.
High-Temperature Configuration
High-temperature bearings, shaft cooling arrangements, high-temperature materials and special sealing solutions can be configured according to actual operating conditions.
Multiple Drive Options
Available configurations include:
Direct Drive
Belt Drive
Coupling Drive
VFD-Compatible Configuration
A variable frequency drive can be used to adjust fan speed according to boiler load and ventilation requirements.

Typical Installation Locations
- Industrial Boiler Plants
- Steam Boiler Plants
- Biomass Boiler Plants
- Waste Heat Boiler Plants
- District Heating Plants
- CHP Plants
- Thermal Energy Facilities
- Boiler Dust Collection Plants
- Flue Gas Treatment Systems
- Industrial Heating Plants
Fan Selection Requirements
For accurate selection, customers should provide:
- Boiler Capacity
- Fuel Type
- Required Flue Gas Flow
- Required Pressure
- Gas Temperature
- Gas Density
- Dust Concentration
- Flue Gas Composition
- Total System Resistance
- Dust Collector Pressure Loss
- FGD / DeNOx Pressure Loss
- Duct Size and Length
- Installation Altitude
- Motor Voltage / Frequency
- Operating Hours
- Material Requirements
- Drive Type
- Noise Requirements
Boiler capacity alone is not sufficient for fan selection. The actual duty point should be calculated from the flue gas volume and total resistance of the complete boiler exhaust system.
