Product Overview
The Y5-48 Boiler Centrifugal Induced Draft Fan is an industrial centrifugal ID fan designed for boiler flue gas extraction, furnace negative pressure control and continuous exhaust operation.
Installed in the downstream flue gas system, the Y5-48 extracts combustion flue gas from the boiler and provides sufficient pressure to overcome the resistance of dust collectors, flue gas treatment equipment, ducts and chimneys.
The fan is suitable for industrial steam boilers, hot water boilers, biomass boilers, waste heat boilers, district heating systems and other thermal energy applications.
EMS can customize the fan according to airflow, pressure, gas temperature, dust concentration, gas composition, material requirements and installation conditions.

Engineering Note: The above figures are typical reference ranges rather than fixed specifications for every Y5-48 configuration. Final selection should be based on the actual airflow, pressure, gas temperature, gas density, dust concentration and total system resistance.
Working Principle
Boiler Furnace → Dust Collector → FGD / DeNOx → Y5-48 ID Fan → Chimney
Hot flue gas generated during boiler combustion passes through the dust collection and flue gas treatment equipment before entering the Y5-48 induced draft fan.
The centrifugal impeller generates negative pressure at the inlet and continuously extracts flue gas from the boiler system. The fan then increases the gas pressure sufficiently to overcome downstream system resistance and discharge the treated flue gas through the chimney.
Proper ID fan selection helps maintain stable furnace negative pressure and reliable boiler operation.
Key Features

Dedicated Boiler ID Application
The Y5-48 is designed for boiler flue gas extraction and negative pressure control in continuous industrial operation.
Stable Centrifugal Performance
The centrifugal impeller provides stable airflow and pressure for boiler exhaust systems with significant system resistance.
Compatible with Environmental Systems
The fan can be selected according to the pressure losses of dust collectors, FGD, DeNOx and other flue gas treatment equipment.
Wear-Resistant Options
For dusty flue gas applications, EMS can provide wear-resistant impellers, liners and reinforced structures according to the actual dust characteristics.
High-Temperature Options
For elevated-temperature flue gas, suitable bearings, shaft cooling arrangements, high-temperature materials and sealing systems can be configured.
Multiple Drive Configurations
Depending on power, speed and installation requirements, the fan can be supplied with:
Direct Drive
Belt Drive
Coupling Drive

Selection Requirements
For accurate Y5-48 selection, customers should provide:
- Boiler Capacity
- Fuel Type
- Required Flue Gas Flow
- Required Fan Pressure
- Gas Temperature
- Gas Density
- Dust Concentration
- Flue Gas Composition
- Total System Resistance
- Dust Collector Pressure Loss
- FGD / DeNOx Pressure Loss
- Duct Size and Length
- Installation Altitude
- Motor Voltage and Frequency
- Operating Hours
- Material Requirements
- Drive Type
- Noise Requirements
Boiler capacity alone is not sufficient for fan selection. The actual duty point should be calculated from the flue gas volume and total resistance of the complete boiler exhaust system.
